Obituary

George W. "Bill" Comeau, 77, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side.

A Plattsburgh native, Bill was born on June 1, 1949, to the late George H. Comeau and Evelyn Ruth Cross. He grew up in Plattsburgh and attended Plattsburgh High School. Bill went on to build a steady career as a factory supervisor at Champlain Plastics in Rouses Point, where his strong work ethic and quiet reliability earned the deep respect of the people who worked alongside him.

Known simply as "Bill" to everyone he met, he was a man who knew how to appreciate the good, simple things in life. He loved being outdoors—taking long walks, feeling the sunshine, and always stopping to share a warm story or a quick laugh with neighbors and friends. With a sharp mind and a curious spirit, he stayed closely connected to the world around him, always keeping up on the daily news and weather, and never missing a chance to cheer on his beloved New York Yankees.

Above all else, Bill’s heart belonged entirely to his family. For 47 wonderful years, he shared his life and his love with his partner, Carol Latour. He was a deeply caring, devoted dad to his son, Garrick, and nothing brought a brighter light to his eyes than being Pépé to his grandson, Garrick Jr. His warmth, kindness, and deep love for his family will be missed beyond measure.

Bill is survived by his loving partner, Carol Latour; his son, Garrick Clark, and his companion, Chelsea Labelle; his sister, Carolyn L. Piscitello; his cherished grandson, Garrick Jr.; his niece, Christine L. Kalinowski; his nephew, Jeffrey P. Kalinowski; as well as many other loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, George H. Comeau and Evelyn Ruth Cross, as well as Carol's sons, Todd Lawrence and Eric Lawrence, who were an important and cherished part of his life for many years.

Honoring Bill’s personal wishes, there will be no traditional cemetery service. Care and arrangements have been entrusted to the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
