George And
Connie Slosson
May 8, 2025 – May 10, 2025
WEST CHAZY – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved parents, George Frederick Slosson and Constance Elizabeth Slosson.
George passed away on May 8th, 2025, at the age of 86 and Constance followed peacefully on May 10th, 2025, at the age of 83. Married for 60 years, they shared a lifetime of love and partnership at the Slosson homestead in West Chazy, NY, where they built a life centered around family, faith and community.
George was born in Plattsburgh, NY, the son of Rudolph and Hazel (Bradley) Slosson, and was predeceased by his sister, Beverly (Slosson) McIlwain. Constance was born in New Brighton, PA, the daughter of Reverand W. Coburn Sweet, Jr. and Nancy (McIlwain) Sweet, and is survived by her dear sister, Prudence (Sweet) Withall.
They were both devoted music educators who spent the majority of their careers inspiring and shaping the lives of countless students. Their love for music and service was evident not only in the classroom, but also in the life of the church. They were fully involved in church activities, such as playing piano and organ, directing the choir, occasionally leading the congregation in hymns, and actively supporting the worship aspects of Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
George grew up on the Slosson farm, which instilled in him a lifelong love for the outdoors. That passion led him to run a lawn and garden business on the side while beginning his service as a music educator in the Plattsburgh City Schools and later in the Peru Central School District. Throughout his life, he served on numerous musical and community-based committees, including the Riverview Cemetery Board and as head of the West Chazy Grange. He also served on the New York State Music Association Board. His dedication for both music and community were unwavering.
Constance was a music teacher at the Cumberland Head Elementary School prior to choosing to become a stay-at-home mother for many years, raising her family with love and care. She ended her teaching career in the Plattsburgh City School District all the while providing private piano lessons. Together, they were a strong presence in their community, offering their time, talents and hearts in service to others.
Together, George and Constance leave behind a legacy of love in their four children and their spouses: Deborah L. Tilmont (Craig), Sharon E. Bucks (Ron), Barbara L. Boulerice (Larry), and Ronald E. Slosson (Rebekka). They were proud and devoted grandparents to Cameron and Krynn Tilmont, Nadia and Isabella Bucks, Liam, Tayla and Ayden Boulerice, and Richelle and Riley Slosson.

Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 23rd at the Church of the Nazarene in Plattsburgh, NY at 11am.
