PLATTSBURGH- George Pierre Dionne, 62, of Wells St., passed away on July 27, 2021 at his home.

He was born in Khanawake Reservation, Quebec on April 25, 1959 the adopted son of Lucien and Marie (Patry) Dionne from Chazy, where he grew up.

George graduated from Chazy Rural School in 1977. George played youth hockey for the Chazy Flyers under coach Roger Giroux and played for the Chazy soccer team under coach George Brendler. He studied environmental science at SUNY Plattsburgh and received his Bachelor's Degree in 1980.

George served in the United States Navy from 1986 to 1987.

He loved the outdoors and was a member of the Adirondack Mountain Club.

George enjoyed hiking, bicycling, fishing and swimming.

He was a devote Catholic, his faith was his strength when dealing with his mental health. He was a kind and loving man to his family and friends.

Survivors include a sister, Louise Dionne and her husband Ernesto Rodriguez, and their son, Camilo of Chazy.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, John Dionne, his aunts, Pauline and Louisette Dionne, his uncle, Rev. Jean-Jacques Dionne.

Visitation will be held on Friday August 6, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be private in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
