PLATTSBURGH- Gerald "Jerry" LaVigne, 81, of Broadway Rd., Plattsburgh, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at UVHN-CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh on May 27, 1938 the son of Gerald and Elizabeth (Darrah) LaVigne.

Jerry was a Marine veteran serving from 1956 to 1958. He married the former Ann Marie Gallagher in 1957.

Jerry was a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, where he received a Masters Degree in guidance counseling. While at SUNY he was the captain of the men's soccer team his junior and senior years, receiving All Team NYS.  He was a teacher at Beekmantown Central School, and coached football at St. John's School and also Beekmantown Central School. Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed being in his garden and taking care of his cats.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Marie LaVigne of Plattsburgh; his children, Dr. Keri Langenstein, Dr. Allison Linquist, Mary Elizabeth LaVigne; three amazing grandchildren, Matt, Erin and Emma.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at a time and place to be announced.
