Obituary

WEST CHAZY – Gerald F. Miller, 85, of Route 9, passed away, Jaunary 24, 2021.

He was born in Mooers Forks on April 15, 1935, son of Jerry and Adele (Garrand) Miller.

Gerald entered the United States Army in 1955 and was Honorably discharged in 1958. He then went to work at Georgia Pacific in Plattsburgh as a millwright and retired in 1997 after 39 years.

Gerald married the former Elene Yelle on June 3, 1961 in St. Louis of France Church in Sciota. Elene passed away in 1993.

Gerald was a member of the International Pulp and Sulfide Union Local 387 and of St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy.

Gerald was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering on the Yankees and following Tom Brady. He also enjoyed attending local sporting events, including Plattsburgh State Hockey games.

He enjoyed spending time golfing, and especially cherished his time spent sitting at the Naked Turtle, visiting his granddaughter while she was bartending, and eating his "Turtle Petals".

Survivors include his son, Stephen and Laurie Miller of Chazy; daughters, Karen McBride of Plattsburgh, and Kim and Matt Bell of Plattsburgh; sister, Shirley and Robert Trombly of Mooers; grandchildren, Taylor Manor and companion Carter Frechette and Dustin Miller and companion Kara Guynup; one niece, Carol Trombly and one nephew, Rob Trombly.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Entombment will take place at the Town of Plattsburgh Community Mausoleum.
