PLATTSBURGH – Geraldine "Gerry" Breyette, 91, of Breyette Way, passed away, Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the CVPH Medical Center, in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Columbia, SC on January 30, 1928 the daughter of William and Annie (Storne) Brown.

Geraldine was a member of the Turnpike Wesleyan Church.

She was employed at the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Montcalm Avenue in Plattsburgh for several years.

Gerry was loved by those in her community, and was known to many children as the "Neighborhood Mom".

Survivors include her sons, Arthur Breyette and his wife Cristina of Hartford, CT, Alvin Breyette, Jr. of Fairbanks, AK and Jesse Breyette and his wife, Catherine of IN; daughters, Catherine McGregor and Sharon Riegel and her husband Michael of Escanaba, MI, and Pamela Breyette of Plattsburgh; brother, Lamar and his wife JoAnne Brown of Columbia SC; sister, Delores Whittington of Greer, SC; several grandchildren, including Danielle and David Darrah, and their children, Zoe and Abbigale, who she resided with for the last 19 years; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and husband, Alvin Breyette, Sr.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at the Turnpike Wesleyan Church.

Burial will take place at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Chazy.
