Obituary

PLATTSBURGH: Gerard G. St.Pierre, 80, of Route 9 passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Albany, VT on January 20, 1930 the son of Wilfred P. and Lucille (Theroux) St. Pierre. Gerard married the former Edith I. Tutolo in Brooklyn, NY at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in 1950. She passed away in 2005. He graduated from St. Marys High School in Claremont, NH in 1948 and then served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1950. Following his service in the Army, he worked at Idlenot Dairy in Springfield, VT and then at Goddard Sunbeam Bakery in Claremont, NH. Gerard then owned and operated Gerard Motors in Claremont for 5 years until he moved to Plattsburgh in 1961. While residing in Plattsburgh, Gerard was a National Supervisor for the Independent Buyers Association for 25 years until his retirement in 1986. He also owned and operated Route 9 Trailer Sales for 12 years until retiring in 1998. Gerard was a member of the K of C in Claremont, NH, the American Legion Post 20, St. John the Baptist Association, the Farm Bureau, and St. Marys of the Lake Church on Cumberland Head. Survivors include two sons, Raymond St. Pierre of Plattsburgh, and Roy St. Pierre and his wife Wendy of Deltona, FL; four daughters, Maria Roberts and her husband Michael of Chazy Lake, Loretta Santasier and her husband John of Athol, NY, Annette St. Pierre of Plattsburgh, and Roseanne Racette and her husband Stephen of Cadyville; five brothers, Germaine St. Pierre of Crown Point, NY, Ferdinand Pete St. Pierre and his wife Clairienne of Ogdensburg, NY, Antonio St. Pierre of Charlestown, NH, Joseph St. Pierre and his wife Yvonne of Claremont, NH, and Maurice St. Pierre and his wife Judy of Claremont, NH; two sisters, Francoise Goforth and her husband John of Henderson, NV and Monique Bedard of St. Agathe, Quebec; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Paul St. Pierre, Leo St. Pierre, and Roche St. Pierre; three sisters, Gilbert Ferland, Madeline Rodrique, and Clemence Rocco; and also an infant brother and sister. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Marys of the Lake Church on Cumberland Head. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Donations, in his memory, may be made to Hospice Care of the North Country or the Clinton County Senior Citizens Council.
