Rafferty
April 24, 1954 – November 15, 2018
WEST CHAZY, NY – Glendon "Glen" Richard "Rick" Rafferty, 64, of the Military Turnpike, passed away on November 15, 2018 at his home after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's.
He was born in Ticonderoga on April 24, 1954 the son of Glendon and Margaret (Smith) Rafferty.
Glen graduated from Ticonderoga High School and later married the former Joyce Knowlton in Ticonderoga on September 17, 1977.
Glen was a farmer, lumberjack, mason and started Rafferty Sand & Gravel which he operated until his retirement, when he entrusted his sons with the company. He was known throughout the area for his honesty, integrity and work ethic.
Glen was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed traveling anywhere it was warm. Most of all he loved spending time with his family – especially with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Joyce Rafferty of West Chazy; three children, Glendon Rafferty and his wife Keryn, Jason Rafferty and his wife Jessica, and Kerry Haley and her husband Bill all of West Chazy; mother, Margaret Rafferty of Ticonderoga; brothers, Dale Rafferty and his wife Debbie, Eric Rafferty and his wife Pam, both of Ticonderoga, and Shannon Rafferty of Florida; grandchildren, Luke Haley, Jacob Haley, Kolton Rafferty, Morgan Rafferty, Jason Rafferty and Joleigh Rafferty; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Glendon Rafferty and his sister, Bonnie Williams.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Foundation of the CVPH Medical Center.
