PLATTSBURGH- Golda P. Reid (Goldie), 90, of Plattsburgh, passed away October 6, 2023 at CVPH Medical Center.  She was born in Cadyville on November 19, 1932, the daughter of Herbert and Delia (Rondeau) Rock.  She married the love of her life, Orville, September 10, 1952 and they spent 53 happy years together until he passed away in 2005.

Goldie was incredibly loved by her family and friends.  She enjoyed baking, gardening, trying her luck at the casino, painting ceramics, dancing, and most of all spending time with her family. She was a woman of incredibly strong faith and loved her family beyond measure.  She spent many years as a caregiver for Senator Ronald Stafford's children.  She was a marvelous cook, it was impossible to leave her house hungry.  She was always happiest when her house was filled with family and laughter.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Wanda and Ed Hewitt; Betty and Larry Baker, Dianne Prell and her companion Denis Bouvier, Richard Reid, Dale and Judy Reid, and Gail and Kevin Baker.  Her brother Chester (Ginny) Rock and a sister-in-law, Beverly Rock.  Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Orville; her beloved son Mark; brothers Leonard Rock, Clarence Rock, Clifton Rock, Gilbert Rock, Floyd Rock and sisters Catherine Rock, Noma Carol, Julie Rock and Florence Pettis.  She had a very special bond and friendship with her sister Florence and they shared so much joy and laughter together.

Calling hours will be 4-6 Wednesday Oct 11, 2023 at Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday October 12, 2023 at St. Alexanders Church in Morrisonville, NY with burial to follow. A reception will immediately follow at the Club House, 2 Bateau Way, Tall Pine Estates, Plattsburgh, NY.
