CADYVILLE – Harriett Provost, 89, of the Gene Lefevre Road, passed away, December 6, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Chazy on February 11, 1931, daughter of Frank and Irene (Perrea) Ackey.

Harriett married Alexander Provost at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy in 1949.

She worked as an Industrial Training Supervisor in the tailor shop at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora for many years, retiring in 1996.

Harriet was a member of the Catholic Daughters and enjoyed going to "Seniors on Tuesdays" at Mae Currier.

Survivors include her son, Alex Provost of Cadyville; daughters, Debbie (Jim) Norcross of Bloomingdale and Linda (Donald) Covel of Peru; daughters-in-law, Carolyn Provost of Plattsburgh and Melissa Monty Provost of Plattsburgh; brother, James (Rose) Ackey of Florida; sister, Irene Wray of Chazy; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Harriett was predeceased by her husband; two sons, Ronald Provost and Frank Provost; and brother, Alfred Ackey.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Seating will be limited due to Covid restrictions.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora.
