Obituary

Henry Arthur Dupell, 64, passed away Wednesday, March 16, at CVPH, with his loved ones by his side. Henry was born on April 15, 1958, one of nine children to the late Edmund and Liz Dupell. He is preceded by his sister Laura Lavigne, wife of Jack Lavigne. His siblings and their spouses are Donna (Dupell) and Greg Lavene, Diana (Dupell) and Bill House, Dana and Mary Dupell, Chris and Lisa Dupell, Mark and Marie Dupell, Cheryl (Dupell) and Pat McCall, and Todd and Amy Dupell.

He met the love of his life Suzette when they were teenagers and had three beautiful children; Sacha, Adam, and Nick. He was a wonderful husband and father, as long as you didn't get 'the eyes'.

Though Henry appeared tough and harsh, Henry had a big heart who cared about those he loved. He was a considerate man who was ready to lend a hand wherever he could. There are stories that will forever be told of Henry showing up at people's doorsteps ready to help with a project that was only discussed in passing on the phone days earlier. "Well I'll just help for a few hours" always turned into a day, sometimes weeks, long project that Henry would see through. Helping others was a driving force for him.

More often than not, he could be seen tinkering in his garage with a cup of coffee near by or driving his tractor up and down his driveway with material for a project. Henry was an innovative thinker, moving outside of the box for ways to find a solution to a problem. Sometimes the solutions were uncommon, like hitting an AC unit that fell out of a second story window with a sledge hammer to get it running again, but it worked, nonetheless.

He was proud to work for the Beekmantown Highway Department until he retired in 2017. Friendships from there lasted for the rest of his life, with the last visit being a few days before he passed. But his greatest pride was when he became a Papa. His grandbabies were his biggest source of love and joy. Maddison, Kole, and Grace Brownwood, Hailey and Flynn Dupell, and Rosalee and Graham Dupell were lucky to have such an amazing Papa. There will be memories of sleepovers, camping trips, and movie nights to keep his remembrance alive.

Henry was a stoic, kind, gentle man who surrounded himself with love until he drew his last breath. He, along with his sarcastic wit, unfailing honesty, and life skills knowledge, will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him. His services will be on Tuesday, March 21 at Saint Alexander's Church at 11:00, followed by a reception at the American Legion 1619 in West Morrisonville.
