CHAMPLAIN – Hortense Premore, 91, of Route 9, passed away on February 1, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 12, 1934, daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Grimshaw) Ashline.

Hortense married Howard Premore on September 10, 1955 at St. Mary's Church in Champlain.

She worked as a cook at Wyeth in Rouses Point for many years until her retirement.

Hortense loved her family and friends and was a babysitter for numerous children.  She also enjoyed going camping, playing bingo, and going to garage sales to find those special treasures.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna Supernaw of West Chazy, Sheila Bennet and her husband Kim of Chazy, and Lori-ann Lujan and her husband Edward of Rio Rancho, NM;  brothers, Norman Ashline of Ohio, Robert Ashline and his wife Margaret of Champlain, and James Ashline and his wife Kelly of Florida;  sisters-in-law, Sheila Ashline of Plattsburgh and Geneva Ashline of Champlain;  grandchildren, Jeremy Supernaw, Tyler Supernaw, April (Supernaw) Davis, Darren Valdez and Joseph Valdez; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Hortense was predeceased by her husband, Howard;  brothers, Roland Ashline, Douglas Ashline, Jacob Ashline, and Bernard Ashline;  and son-in-law, Theodore "Ted" Supernaw.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Mary's Church in Champlain.  Burial will take place in the spring in the parish cemetery.
