Howard J. Wemette, 70, of Plattsburgh, NY passed away Dec. 2 nd 2019 in the presence of family at CVPH after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Plattsburgh, NY Dec. 7 th 1948. He attended and graduated from Keeseville High school in 1968 where he earned an Industrial Arts diploma. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, completing Basic Combat Training at Ft. Bragg, NC and Quartermaster School at Ft. Lee, VA. He was honorably discharged in 1974. After his military service he was self-employed as a carpenter and later started his own industrial maintenance business. He went on to work for Imperial Wallpaper Mill. He would later pursue his passion for security and law enforcement. He went on to work for Frontier Armored Car Service, Wackenhut Security, and his final position was with the New York State Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer.
Howard was a hardworking and kind loving father to his family. He was very proud of his wife, children, and their achievements. Howard had a special place in his heart for his family pets and homeless animals. He was a passionate outdoorsman who loved boating, fishing, and camping with his family. He was also an avid marksman who enjoyed spending time at the range with his son.
From an early age Howard was also an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast.
Howard is survived by his loving and caring wife Deborah. Daughters Christina Wemette and her Husband Earl, Jamie Wemette and her children Sofia and Ford, Son James Wemette, Sisters Linda Woolley and Barbra Dunn, In-Laws Doris and Craig Pawley, Sr. and their children, Delores Vivian and her children, Doreen Nelson and her children.
You will always be in our hearts, on our minds, and with our souls every step of the way. We love you and you will be missed immensely. Lots of love always and forever. May God keep and bless you.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at St. John's Church in Keeseville. Family will greet family and friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to services at the church.
