Irene Wray, 76, of Pleasant Valley Road, West Chazy, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Chazy, on September 20, 1947 the daughter of Frank and Irene (Perrea) Ackey.

Irene was employed as a General Industrial Training Supervisor at Clinton Correctional Facility.

She was predeceased by her parents, Irene and Frank Ackey; her husband, Earl; her sister, Harriet Provost; her brother, Alfred; as well as her beloved dog, Lucky.

Irene is survived by her daughters, Geraldine (Pete) Dessureault; Becky Rushford; her son, Wade (Marie) Rushford; grandchildren, Jennifer Gooch, Rosanna Rockwell, Lucas Dessureault, Lacey Rushford, Harley Clausen, Adriona Rushford; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Lucy.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 4 to 6 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy.

Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

A reception will follow at the American Legion in Chazy.
