PLATTSBURGH-Iva Leo Guay, 88, of State Rt. 9 Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at CVPH Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Champlain on September 8, 1935 the son of Emile and Helene Guay.

Iva married Therese Suprenant on May 24, 1958 at St. Joseph's Church in St. Bernard Canada.

He retired from Fuller Excavating, Keeseville, NY. Iva was a dedicated volunteer firefighter at Point AuRoche Station 2 Beekmantown Fire Department, receiving an award for 50 years of service. Iva enjoyed hockey, gardening, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Therese Guay of Plattsburgh; sons Roger (Corrine) Guay of Chazy, Raymond (Amy) Guay of Chazy, James (Tisha) Guay of Chazy, Terry (Mary) of Mooers, Steven (Lyza) Guay of Champlain, Gary (Melaine) Guay of Mount Juliet, TN; daughters Elaine (William)  Betrus of Saranac, Carol (John) Hack of Cadyville; brothers Michael (Helen) Guay, Vincent (Kathy) Guay; sisters Rosalie (Felix), Cecile, Veronica, Marille, Julie; 25 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Iva was predeceased by his parents, sisters Jennette Arnold, Angele Laurin; brothers Rolland, David, Gerald, and Francis Guay.

Calling hours will be Thursday, October 12th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral home in Plattsburgh.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 13th at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Point AuRoche Station 2 Beekmantown Fire Department in memory of Iva.
