Obituary

PEACHTREE CITY, GA – Jane Chandler Wilson, 84, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Wesley Woods, an assisted living facility.

She was born in Mooers, New York, the youngest child of Charles and Emma Chandler.

Jane graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a degree in library science and began her career as a school librarian in Ballston Spa, New York, eventually returning home to work in the Northeastern Clinton Central School District (NCCS).

Jane loved to read and loved good literature. She was a devoted librarian who enjoyed helping her students with their research projects.

She was the treasurer of her church for many years. She lovingly cared for her parents as they aged tending to every need. Her cousins and nieces and nephews remember her for how much fun she made family gatherings at the Chandler homestead, her laughter, and wonderful sense of humor. She loved the Yankees and was a loyal fan. Jane loved to walk her beloved dog, Sadie, and have her cat, Boots, by her side.

Jane was married to Hale O. Wilson who passed away in May 2013.

Survivors include two nieces, Lori Benson of Onset, MA, and Tracy French of Essex, VT; four nephews, James W. Chandler of Key West, FL, C. Chandler Petch of Brockville, Ontario, Canada, Christopher J. Petch of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and William M. Petch of Belleville, Ontario, Canada; and four cousins, Suzanne Carey and Barbara Posner, both of Peachtree City, GA, Emily Suzannah Chandler of NYC, Corinne Taylor of Easton, MD, and Carole Lane of San Antonio, FL. There will be no public calling hours. A private graveside service will be held in the spring in Maples Hill Cemetery in Rouses Point.
