PERU – Janice M. Foster, 85, of Laflure Lane, passed away March 4, 2026 with her family by her side.

She was born on October 25, 1940, daughter of Leona M. Ratta.

Jan attended St. John's School, Plattsburgh High School, and then graduated from Plattsburgh State with her Batchelor's Degree.

She owned and operated her own real estate company, Jan Santa Realty, for several years before moving to Kansas City, MO, where she worked for Southwestern Bell in their Real Estate Department.

Jan was the first woman to be elected President of Clinton County Board of Realtors, and also served several years as Regional Vice President of the NYS Association of Realtors.

Jan is survived by her children, Christopher Santa, Gina Gilbert and her husband Maurice, and Daniella Cross and her husband Jeff;  sister, Pat Ives;  as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Daniel Santa in 1973, and her second husband, William Foster in 2013.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Corina Downs for being a true friend over the last several years, as well as, Debbie Frank for her exceptional care and kindness during some of Jan's most difficult challenges.

At her request, there will be no public services.

Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
