June 1, 1927 – September 17, 2018
DANNEMORA - Jared N. Keysor, 91, of Hammond St. Dannemora, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Saranac on June 1, 1927 the son of Clarence and Julia (Bowen) Keysor.
Jared served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Jared married Betty Everleth in 1949 at the Saranac Methodist Church.
He graduated from Champlain College in 1948 and Vaughn Barber School in 1949.
Jared was employed by New York State of Correctional services, working at different facilities retiring as Deputy Superintendent for Administrative Services at Clinton Correctional Facility. During this time he was also employed as a NYS Licensed Barber.
Jared was a member of the Dannemora Community Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher for several years, American Legion, Elks Lodge #621, Dannemora Rod and Gun Club, he also served on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Clinton County.
He enjoyed golf, bowling, boating, camping, hunting, woodworking, auto mechanic's but most of all he enjoyed the time he spent with his family.
Survivors include his sons, Gary (Linda) Keysor of Saranac, Scott Keysor of Cadyville, Robin (Lynne) Keysor of Lake Placid; brothers, Harold and (Sandy) Keysor, George and (Nadine) Keysor and Francis and (Bonnie) Keysor; sisters, Florence Wright and Margaret LeClair; grandchildren and their companions, Aaron (Kelly) Caiazza, Cory (Ingrid) Keysor, Chris (Erin) Sharrow, Kyle, Kolby (Kate), Cameron (Lizzie) Keysor, Shannan Keysor; great-grandchild Kayden; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald (Shirley) Everleth and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and his loving wife of 69 years, Betty, who passed away September 2ndand his sister, Catherine Keysor Durocher.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. the United Methodist Church in Dannemora. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery in Saranac.
Donations may be made to the United Methodist Church in Dannemora.
