Jared Phillip West, 52, of Champlain, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Westchester Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh on April 6, 1973 the son of Bruce and Jane (Bechard) West. Jared graduated from Chazy Central Rural School in 1991. He went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from the University at Albany in 1995 and his Master's Degree from UMass Boston. For more than 30 years, Jared dedicated his career to fundraising and event promotion, most recently serving for the Advocacy and Resource Center in Plattsburgh, NY. Jared was also an active member of the Plattsburgh Rotary Club.

Jared loved spending time with his family, friends, and feline companions. He was deeply passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities and special needs. He will be remembered always for his gentle nature, kind smile, and unwavering compassion for others.

Survivors include his parents, Bruce and Jane West; his brother Adam and sister-in-law Gretchen West; his niece, Emily (Carter): nephew, Benjamin: his longtime partner, Mark (Morty) Mollica; his dearest friend, Monique Bedard; and a large extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 19th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 20th at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church in Champlain. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Coopersville.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Jared's memory be made to the Advocacy and Resource Center in Plattsburgh.
