PLATTSBURGH – Jean G. Poutre, LT. Col (Ret), 90, of Arnold Road, passed away, September 30, 2024.

He was born on October 30, 1933 the son of Alcide and Almeda (Choquette) Poutre.

Jean attended various military schools and went on to receive his Bachelor's and Master's Degree from St. Michaels College in Winooski, VT.

He entered the Vermont Air National Guard in 1955 and was honorably discharged as Lieutenant Colonel in 1977.  During his time in the Air Force, Jean served as a Senior Master Navigator, a Radar Observer, and an Electronic Weapons Operator.

Jean was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 255, St. Vincent de Paul, and St. John's Church in Plattsburgh where he served in the choir and was a lector.

Survivors include his wife, Marielle Poutre; son, Steven (Kimberlee) Poutre; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, one brother and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was predeceased by four sisters and four brothers.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 4th at 11:00 a.m. in St. John's Church in Plattsburgh.

Burial will take place at a later date in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT.
