Jennifer Anne Colver, 78, of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 12, 2026 at Plattsburgh Rehab Nursing Home, from Alzheimer's complications.

She was born on December 28, 1947, daughter of John and Prudence (Webster) Colver in Alburgh, VT.

Jennifer grew in in Plattsburgh, went to St. John's Academy and obtained her Education degree from Plattsburgh State University. Immediately after graduation she became an English teacher at Stafford Middle School where she taught for almost 35 years, retiring in 2003.

Jennifer was a women who believed in, and lived, egalitarian and humanitarian principles. She firmly believed in the equality of women and men, and defied, with quiet dignity, the usual expectations of society regarding marriage and family. She supported works advocating for human rights, worker's rights and civil liberties.

She was a gentle soul, who spoke softly and thoughtfully, who loved classical music and opera and musicals, literature and art, social progressive politics, American history, old houses and antiques and, together with her beloved husband Michael Kulik, enthusiastically participated in local cultural and historical events. She also loved to cook and serve up hearty feasts on Thanksgiving and Christmas. It pleased her much to have the company of family and good friends.

She was beloved by her students for her gentle nature, and was will-regarded by her colleagues for her competency and affability.

Jennifer is survived by the love of her life and husband of 51 years Michael Kulik, their beautiful cat Frida, and her beloved sisters and brothers and their families.

There will be no public services.
