CHAZY – Joan Sears, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

She is survived by Alvin Rivera, their children and spouses: Ray and Valerie Rivera, Maria and Lee Duprey, Thomas Rivera, stepchildren Joanne Marie, Laurie, Robert and Fred Sears. She leaves behind her grandchildren RJ and Alicia Rivera; Chandra, Moses w/spouse Tracie and Sydney Duprey; TJ, Lev, Leef, Dani, Rafael and Seth Rivera; Joseph Bouyea w/fiancé Kadie Porter and Heather Bouyea; great grandchildren Kadence and Maverick Rivera and Autumn Duprey. She also leaves her sibling Agnes Hurly as well as numerous relatives and other friends. Joan was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Dora Ackey and brothers Leo and Richard Ackey.

Calling hours will be held on January 25, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy, N.Y. from 11am –12:00pm with Mass to follow at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in Ingraham Cemetery in the spring. A reception will follow for those who wish to attend at Sacred Heart Church Hall.
