Obituary

John J. (Jack) Brady, 94, of Plattsburgh passed away on October 31. He was born in Manhattan on October 18, 1931.

He is survived by Anne, his wife of 48 years. He is also survived by his daughter Donna Farnsworth (Bill), his stepsons Jean-Michael Akey (Trish), Peter Akey (Theresa), and Robert Akey (Joyce), as well as grandchildren Melissa Mullin (Josh), Emily Akey, Nicole Akey, Travis Lamm (Lizzy), Austin Akey, and Robert Akey and great grandson Vincent Mullin. He is also survived by his sister Patricia O'Brien. Jack was predeceased by his parents John J. and Rosina Brady and his brother James Brady.

Jack retired as a Sergeant from the NYPD after 27 years of service in the Bronx. He enjoyed travel, golfing, and reading, and he moved to Plattsburgh to pursue his love of sailing on Lake Champlain. He was an ace solver of the Sunday New York Times crossword and could recall amazing details of places he had visited. Jack was known around the neighborhood for his early morning walks, his quick Irish wit, his special recipe for Brady's Irish cream, and his bountiful tomato crops. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Parish.

A memorial service is planned for the future at the family's convenience.
