FLORIDA – John "Jack" Post, 77, of North Fort Myers, passed away on January 27, 2021 in Cape Coral, Florida.

He was born in Anaconda, MT on December 22, 1943 the son of Charles and Esther Post.

John served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and then served 12 years in the National Guards. He worked for Imperial Wallpaper Mill for 10 years. In 1980 John went to work for NYS Department of Corrections in Dannemora for 30 years until his retirement in September of 2010.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #20 and the VFW Post #215, where he also served as commander at both Posts.

John enjoyed being a little league coach and was an avid bowler.

Survivors include his son, Jeffery P. Post of Plattsburgh; daughter, Cheryl Rascoe and her husband, Ricky of Saranac; grandson, Jacob Finley; great-grandson, Carter Finley; brothers, Charles Post of WA and William Post and his wife, Laura of OR; and a sister, Linda Loughbourgh of CA.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 4 ^th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow at 4:00 in the funeral home chapel.
