John P. Wattie, 73 of Plattsburgh, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022. He was born in Plattsburgh on July 14, 1948, the son of William and Augustine (Norman) Wattie.  John graduated from St. John's Academy in 1967.  During his younger years he was active in the Lake Champlain Sports Car Club. He served two years in the U.S. Army Military Police in Germany.  Upon returning home he was General Manager at Brodi's Bar and Grill and spoke fondly of his time there and the friends he made.  He was an avid NASCAR fan.  His lifelong love of cars led to a 30-year career with Bill McBride Chevrolet as Sales Manager. He is predeceased by his parents, two sisters and his son, Phillip.  John is survived by his wife, Linda of 27 years; his sister Barbara Kavanaugh; his brother Bill (Donna) Wattie.  He will also be missed by his stepchildren, Lisa and Shawn; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  A private family memorial service has been planned at R.W. Walker Funeral Home.
