PLATTSBURGH- Joseph A. Baker, 80, of Sherman Street, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at his home.

He was born in West Chazy on March 5, 1939 the son of Royal and Lena Baker.

Joseph married Theresa Nephew on November 14, 1959 in St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Theresa passed away August 21, 2018.

Joseph was a supervisor for the City of Plattsburgh Public Works.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Penelope Baker, James and Linda Baker and Allan and Kathy Baker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger (Donna) Nephew, Steven (Connie) Nephew, Doris Nephew, Eleanor Reeves and Shirley King; grandchildren, Kristy and Jon Ralys, Brian and Candace Baker, Katie and John Donohue, Bradley Baker and Rachel Bedard, Amanda Baker, Jonathan Baker and Megan Baker; 9 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ava, Oliver, Deklan, Delaney, Ashlyn, Deacon, Paytyn, Everleigh and Dani; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 58 years, Theresa Baker, brothers-in-law, Edward, Bernard and Lawrence Nephew and Benjamin King and sister-in-law, Joyce Nephew.

Calling hours will be held Saturday from 9 to 11 am at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy.

Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
