Joseph Elwyn Dickson, 59, passed away surrounded by all his loved ones. He was born to Elwyn Dickson (deceased) and Joanne (Bubbins) Dickson of Dickson's Point Road in Point Au Roche.
Early in life, Joe worked as a corrections officer at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, N.Y. Eventually, Joe found his passion and built a successful business from the ground up as a professional painter. He was known for his craftsmanship and hard work.
Although he lived in Delaware most his life, his heart always belonged to the Adirondacks where he ultimately returned to enjoy his last days. He loved all things sports, fishing, and watching the news.
Joe was a devoted son, brother, father, and a loyal friend to many. He left behind his mother Joanne Dickson; siblings William Dickson, Charles Dickson, and Cathy Deyo; children Kyle Post, Nicole Ayotte, and Chad Dickson; grandchildren Audrey Ayotte and Hunter Post; and many close friends. He will be greatly missed and remembered.
A service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 22nd, 2023, 1 p.m., at St. Peter's Cemetery on 4705 South Catherine Street, Plattsburgh, N.Y.
