PLATTSBURGH – Joyce J. Castine, 86, formerly of Route 22, passed away, September 24, 2020.

She was born in Champlain on July 9, 1934, daughter of Triffle and Laura (Gagnier) Trombley.

Joyce married William Raymond Castine on November 29, 1952 at St. Joseph's Church in Coopersville. William passed away in 2001.

She was a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Joyce cherished the times spent with them playing cards and board games.

Joyce was also an active member of the Advocacy and Resource Center Board of Directors and served as the agency's representative for the New York State ARC Board of Governors since 1973.

Survivors include her children, Mary (Gerald) Babbie, Nancy Castine, and Bill (Judy) Castine; brother, Robert (Gloria) Trombley; grandchildren, Jason Babbie, Lori Babbie, Kelly Castine, and Kayla Castine; great-grandchildren, Jason Babbie II, Kassandra Babbie, and Blake Babbie; and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents; husband; daughter, Cathy Castine, and sister, Nancy LeClair.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28 ^th from 11:00 to 1:00 at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home followed by a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 1:00.

Entombment will take place in the Plattsburgh Community Mausoleum.
