CADYVILLE – Joyce C. Chambers, 69, of the Hardscrabble Rd., passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at CVPH Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Plattsburgh on September 15, 1952 the daughter of Robert and Martha (Mattot) LaValley.

Joyce married Joe Chambers on February 17, 1973 at St. Joseph's Church in Coopersville, NY. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading Nicholas Sparks books and Christian novels.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Joe Chambers; her children, Martha and Michael Boyea of Altona, Catherine Chambers of Cadyville, Patrick Chambers and fiancé Barbara Devins of Peru, Kevin and Kayo Chambers of Ravena; brothers, Jerry LaValley of Champlain, Keith and Mary LaValley of Athol MA; sisters Beth and Woody Kissel of Champlain, Sharon and Art Gooley of Mooers; grandchildren, Jacob Boyea and fiance Savanah Sears, Caleb Boyea, Karlie Devins-Hampton and partner Ryan Prentiss, Korwin Chambers, Regin Chambers, Payton Chambers, Treyson Chambers, Andrew Chambers, Owen Chambers, Mana Chambers; great-grandchild, Carson Sears; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Mildred Chambers; sister-in-law, Ronda Sueck, Mary and Rod Stoner, Ranae and Bob Schelp, all of Iowa; brothers-in-law, Bill and Carla Chambers of Montana, Jerel Chambers of California, Royd and Barb Chambers of Missouri. Also left to cherish her memory are several of her children's friends to whom she was a second mom.

Joyce was predeceased by her grandparents, Milan and Amelia Mattot and Alexander and Edith LaValley, her parents, Robert and Martha LaValley, infant brother Joseph and brother Kevin, father-in-law Billy D. Chambers, brother-in-law Dean Sueck.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
