Obituary

CHAZY--Judy Ann Pombrio ( Bechard), 75, passed away on June 4, 2023, in Valhalla, NY. She was born on September 15, 1947, in Plattsburgh, NY, to Winfred and Raymond Bechard. She was a beloved wife to Marvin Pombrio, a mother to Corey Pombrio, and a sister to Gail Coon.
Judy attended Chazy Central Rural School and went on to become a medical secretary for Dr. Robert Burn Radiology at CVPH from 1967-1968. She then worked as an administrator assistant to the president at Miner Institute from 1968-2002.
On August 15, 1968 she married the love of her life Marvin Pombrio. They were together for 62 yrs. And married for 55yrs. In February of 1979 there only son Corey was born. They followed his accomplishments from elementary school to college.
Judy was a lover of flowers and spent much of her time tending to her beautiful flower beds at her home in Chazy. She was also an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed sharing that passion with her husband and son, especially when the Red Sox lost.
As a child, Judy spent her time playing baseball with the neighborhood kids and was heavily involved in 4H and CYO. She learned tap dancing, ballet, dancing, and acrobatics in her youth and was even on TV in the early 50s tap dancing on a talent show.
In high school, she served as class president, class secretary, cheerleader for three years, yearbook editor, and was part of the business club.
Judy was very active in her community. She played first base in Lady's Softball from 1965-1975.she spent her free time as a Scout Leader for Boy Scouts, Bowling league, Chazy Fire Department Lady Auxiliary, Chazy Alumni, Graduation, Lions Club Volunteer, Winter Weekend, Prom chaperone, Chazy Bicentennial, Fireman's Convention, Chazy Old Home Day, Church Dinner Committee and Eucharistic Minister. CCRS Teller for School budget, Chazy Republican Committee, Clinton County Board of Elections Inspector.
Judy was Treasurer for the Rock City Senior Citizens. A Trustee for Sacred Heart Church. A Trustee and Board Member for Miner Institute and for the Alice T. Miner Museum.
Judy's kind and loving nature made her a joy to be around. She was always laughing and smiling while spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, including her husband Marvin Pombrio, her son Corey Pombrio, and her sister Gail Coon.
