WEST CHAZY – Kathryn Irene Rigsbee, 98, of Route 22, passed away on October 4, 2026.

She was born on January 12, 1928, the 10th daughter of Wilbern and Mary Jane (Cox) Rigsbee. Kathryn was the last living child of 13 children.

Kathryn was a caregiver to many family members as well as to her extended community family. She was always honored on Mother’s Day at her church, because of her caring ways with all the children.

Kathryn’s dedication to her family, friends, and church will forever be remembered for years to come.

Kathryn is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, that she cared for as her own.

She was predeceased by her parents; and siblings: Alice Lucille (Ray) Hurlburt, Marjorie (Kenneth) Angevine, Georgina (Fred) Carson, Mary Jane (Pete) Powell, Judith Rigsbee, Virginia Rigsbee, Elizabeth Rigsbee Holmes, Margaret Rigsbee, Barbara (Donald) Hill (Lyle) Binion, John (Jane) Rigsbee, Richard (Leita) Rigsbee, and foster brother Joseph Martineau.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th at 1:00 p.m. in the West Chazy Rural Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held next summer.
