PERU---Keith R. Matott, 48, of Peru, NY, passed away unexpectedly Sunday September 14, 2014. He was born in Plattsburgh the son of Richard and Florence (West) Matott. He was a 1984 graduate of CCRS and a 1988 graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University with a degree in Construction Management. He worked in Torrington, CT after graduation longing to be back in the north country he went to work as a Truss Plant Manager for Ward Lumber in Jay, NY; then Town Code Enforcement Officer for the Town of Peru; and recently Facilities and Project Manager of the Development Corporation. He served as a Councilman on the Peru Town Board and also was a member of the Peru Planning Board and most recently on the Clinton County Planning Board. Keith is survived by his parents Richard and Florence Matott of Chazy, NY; partner, DJ Bigness of Peru, NY; sister, Tonia Lafountain and brother-in-law, Lee of Tolland, CT; and sister, Amy Harrington, and brother-in-law, Scott of Blue Point, NY; nieces Katie Lafountain and Julia Harrington and nephews Alexander Lafountain and Jack Harrington. Calling hours will be held Tuesday September 16, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home. A Funeral will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy.
