Obituary

PLATTSBURGH- Kenna LaMora, 77, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Plattsburgh on May 25, 1944 the daughter of David and Ruth "Alma" (Taylor) Brothers and grew up in Rouses Point.

Kenna graduated from the Champlain Central School (NCCS) in 1961 and decided to pursue a career in the travel industry. She graduated in 1962 from the Hartford Airline Personnel School in Hartford, Connecticut. While visiting her grandmother in California, she was sent a telegram informing her that she had to report to the FBI in Washington, D.C. to accept a job opportunity. After a few months of working in the Justice Building, she decided that the city was too big for a small town girl. Kenna returned to her home in Northern NY and began working at the Miner's Institute as the Dean's Secretary. For over 30 years, Kenna worked for many local attorneys, enjoying her work as a law secretary.

She married Kenneth L. LaMora on June 22, 1968. She enjoyed her frequent trips to the casino with her husband and spending time with her granddaughters.

Kenna was an avid bowler belonging to the Women's Bowling Association and an accomplished organist.

Kenna is survived by her husband, Kenneth LaMora; daughter, Karra Poupore and her husband, Dennis; granddaughters, Karrisa and Karraline Poupore; sister, Janice Williams; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lowell and Beverly LaMora, Beverly and Karl Costin and Linda Kemp and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers-in-law, Donald Williams and Michael Kemp and a nephew, Stewart Williams.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 4-6 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh.

A Burial in the family lot at Maple Hill Cemetery in Rouses Point will take place at a later date.
