WEST CHAZY-Kenneth James Boyd, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in Plattsburgh, New York, on October 26, 2025 at the age of 85.

He was born in Montreal, PQ on July 17, 1940 the son of the late Alfred and Violet (Martin) Boyd.

Kenneth was a US Army veteran, and was honorably discharged in 1962. He married Marguerite Dion on July 17, 1965 in Verdun, Quebec.  He and his wife are longtime residents of West Chazy, and formerly of Chateauguay Quebec.

Kenneth worked for the Northern Nortel Telecom for 40 years as a project manager, which allowed him to travel all over the world.

Kenneth was Fire Commissioner for 4 years with the West Chazy Fire Department. He belonged to the St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy and its Men's Club. He enjoyed his time working for Beekmantown Central School as a Bus driver for 10 years. Kenneth was an expert marksman, he enjoyed getting out on the golf course, traveling and spending time with his family.

Kenneth's warmth, humor, and kindness touched everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his unwavering loyalty to those he loved, and the countless memories he created with family and friends over the years.

Kenneth will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Marguerite (Dion) Boyd, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage; a devoted father to Ronald (Nathalie), Suzanne and Lynne; proud grandfather to Philippe, Anthony, Alicia, and Justin, who brought him endless joy and pride.

Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, brother David and sister Nancy.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home 69 Court St. Plattsburgh, NY. Honors by the Fire department will conclude visitation, with military honors to follow in the funeral home chapel.
