Obituary

PLATTSBURGH – Kevin P. Juneau, 65, of Sherman Place North, passed away peacefully, Friday, August 13, 2021 with his loving wife by his side.

He was born in Plattsburgh on March 31, 1956, the son of Raymond and Simone (Tetreault) Juneau.

Kevin worked for many years as a corrections officer and retired from Bare Hill Correctional Facility in Malone.

Prior to this, Kevin worked as machinist at Harris Graphics and Mold-

Rite Plastics, jobs that he thoroughly enjoyed.  He was a 25 year member of the Knights of Columbus.

Kevin was an avid athlete and enjoyed softball, bowling, basketball, hockey, broomball, and golf.  He was also a talented carpenter and handyman, a jack of all trades.  His hardworking and loving hands built homes, camps, and playhouses for his family.  He was always there to help and give of his time if family or friends needed anything done.

Kevin cherished his loving family, his many brothers, his cousins, his friends and especially his grandchildren.  All children gravitated to "Papa June", he was happy and fun and gave them all a special name that stayed with them through their lives.  He found great joy in traveling and boating, sharing Lake Champlain and Gulf of Mexico voyages with many throughout the years.  He was a self-taught drummer and made many happy memories playing drums with his band Krisis.  He was also well known as a fun-loving prankster, and many experienced that side of him, especially Mr. Cooler.

Kevin will be deeply missed by his adoring family and the countless friends he made over the years.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn Juneau; sons, Kevyn Juneau (Lesley Dame), Tosh Juneau, and Ryan Collins (Julie Snyder); daughter, Tabitha (Don) Pitts; brothers, Roland (Ann Stevenson) Juneau, Guy (Mary Jo) Juneau, Bobby (Rosemary) Juneau, Rene (Donna) Juneau, Gary (Jennifer) Juneau, and Mitchell Juneau; grandchildren, Anton and Daxton Pitts, Ivy Dragon and Jocee Collins, and Niko and Felix Juneau; and several nieces and nephews.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents; sister, Mary Ann Juneau; and brother, Bruce Juneau.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. A celebration of his life will follow immediately at the American Legion Post 1619 in Morrisonville.

Since Kevin was a lifelong donor to St. Jude Children's Hospital and The Shriner's, donations may be made in his memory to either one of these amazing organizations.
