WEST CHAZY, NY--- Kim "Smurf" McDonald, 62, of Gails Trail, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Dover, NJ on June 8, 1953, the son of Louis McDonald and Mary L. Dunn.

Kim worked for many years as a truck driver for Huntley Trucking in Cadyville, and just recently retired. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing with his brother and close friend Crissy. Above all else, Kim loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren.

He was also an avid Cleveland sports fan.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Linda McDonald of West Chazy; three children, Colleen Patterson of Plattsburgh, Cheryl Patterson-Simpson and her husband Kevin, Jr. of Plattsburgh, and David McDonald and his wife Samantha of West Chazy; his mother, Mary L. Flanders of Madison, OH; three siblings, Dean McDonald of Fort Myers, FL, Louis McDonald and his wife Debbie of Geneva, OH, and Karen Houghwot and her husband Reggie of Kennedy, NY; seven grandchildren, Mackenzie Patterson, Alexis Patterson, Kevin J. Simpson, III, Cadence McDonald, Ian Simpson, Camryn McDonald, and Jace Simpson; and several nieces and nephews.

Kim was predeceased by his father, and one grandson, Robert J. Patterson, II.

Kim's family will receive guests on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Edmund's Cemetery in Ellenburg.
