Obituary

WEST CHAZY – Lawrence Brothers, 86, of Route 22, passed away May 11, 2021.

He was born on July 14, 1934, son of Maynard and Dorothy (Woodward) Brothers.

Larry married the former Shirley Manor on August 6, 1955 at the West Chazy Wesleyan Church.

He worked at the Georgia Pacific Mill in Plattsburgh for many years and following retirement, Lawrence went to work at his son's business, Marty's Carpet in Plattssburgh.

Larry enjoyed many things in life including woodworking, watching wrestling, listening to country music, feeding the birds and squirrels, and riding in his convertible.  Above all else, the thing he cherished the most was the time he spent with his family.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are six children, Marty and Tina Brothers, Christine LaFountain and fiancé Leo Wells, Tammy and Mike Roberts, Gail and Curtis Seymour, Todd and Tammy Brothers, and Vicki and Robbie Rabideau;  one son-in-law, Larry Matott;  brother, Calvin Woodward;  sisters, Pauline Miller and fiancé Ron Duffy, and Pat and Maynard Lashway;  sisters-in-law, Shirley Brothers, Jean Brothers and Carolyn Brothers;  brother-in-law, Ray Reilly;  and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lawrence was predeceased by his wife, Shirley;  daughter, Sheryl Matott;  son-in-law, Ed LaFountain;  sisters, Dorothy Reilly, Lillian Delisle, and Lucille Stratton;  brothers, Orville Brothers, Donald Brothers, Marshall Brothers, and Russell Brothers;  brothers-in-law, John Delisle and Herbert Stratton;  and sister-in-law, Sandy Brothers.

In keeping with Larry's wishes, there will be no public services.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center at the CVPH Medical Center.
