PLATTSBURGH-  Leon R. Stone, 91, of the Vilas Home passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at CVPH Medical Center, with his family by his side.

He was born in Plattsburgh on June 7, 1934 the son of Albert and Lillian (Agnew) Stone.

Leon was a loving uncle and friend to many. He enjoyed eating out at the local Diners, tinkering and visiting with family and friends with his considerable wit and humor of stating " I tell it like it is".

He retired from SUNY College maintenance department and lived in Treadwell Mills until transitioning to Vilas Home.

He was predeceased by his companion Ruth Durant; brothers Arthur, Arnold, Ralph, Waldon, Calvin, Merritt; sisters Evelyn, Lillian and Leona.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 9:00am to 9:45am at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, followed by a graveside service at 10:00am at St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
