Linda S. Edwards, of Plattsburgh, NY, died a peaceful death at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, VT on Sunday, March 1, 2026, the day after her 78th birthday.

She is survived by her sons, Vincent Bresett, Jr. (Jodi), of Ogdensburg, NY; Joseph Bresett (Beth), also of Ogdensburg; Benjamin Barkley (Katie), of Norwood, NY; Justin Barkley, of Dannemora, NY; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Linda also is survived by her brothers, Joseph Thomas, III (Lisa), of Plattsburgh and Scott Whitted, of Williston, VT, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of E. Roger Thomas and Mary Jane Price and the step-daughter of Barbara Thomas, all of Plattsburgh and all of whom predeceased her. Linda also was predeceased by her son, Michael Barkley, Jr., of Lisbon, NY and her brother Roger Thomas, of Arlington, TX.

Throughout her recent illness, Linda was deeply grateful for the loyalty of her cherished friends, who helped her along her journey. She also was most appreciative of the extended and compassionate care provided by Charles Ashley, MD of the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT, Dawn Ashline, FNP, NP of the Hudson Headwaters Health Network in Plattsburgh, and the staff at the Respite House.

At Linda's request, there will be no calling hours. The family will hold a private remembrance service at a later date.
