Lloyd D. Wood's Obituary
He was born in Riverview on August 14, 1938, the son of Michael and Bernadette (Bailey) Wood.
Lloyd worked as a correction officer for 33 years, retiring in June of 1998.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Most of all, Lloyd was a family man who dedicated his life to his loving wife and family.
Survivors include his two sons, Greg and Lisa Wood and Nicholas and Tonya Wood, all of Riverview; brother, Ronald and Gail Wood of Riverview; sisters, Betty Lapier of Plattsburgh, Shirley Charland of Chazy Lake, and Greta Wood of Riverview; grandchildren, Jordy and Ryan Kivett, Shannon Wood, Arihanna and Adam Bechard, Mitchell Wood and companion Kelli Jock and Sara Wood and companion Marc Oshier; great-grandchildren, Gemma and Micah Kivett, Payton and Jayden Wilson and Levi Bechard; and several nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth Wood on August 15, 2018; brother Victor and his wife Lucille; sister and her husband, Beulah and Francis Venne; and brothers-in-law, Robert Charland and Maurice Lapier.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 20th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 am at Church of the Assumption in Redford.
Burial will take place in the spring in the parish Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Assumption.
