Obituary

PLATTSBURGH – Lola Bedard, 79, entered eternal life on Saturday, October 17, 2020 surrounded by her daughters.

She was born in Forest, New York on August 9, 1941, the daughter of Rollie and Margaret LaBarge.

Lola graduated from Altona Central School in 1959. She worked in her family's general store, LaBarge's Western Auto, until she married Gerald J. Bedard on November 17, 1963. She then helped her husband build a successful business taking care of all the administrative responsibilities. After her husband's death she returned to school and graduated from Our Lady of Victory Secretarial School in 1984.

Lola lived her life caring for the family she cherished.   She lovingly tended to the needs of her husband, her mother, her daughters and grandchildren. Her happiest moments were when her family was all around her sharing a meal and enjoying being together. She also had a strong devotion to her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Peter's Church, volunteering to help serve at the Harvest dinner and clean the church.

Left to treasure her memory are her daughters, Judy (Brent) Suddaby of Syracuse, Patricia (Bob) Young of Hartland, Wisconsin and Karen Bedard-Kjoelleberg (Ole) of Oslo, Norway; brother, Ronnie LaBarge of Plattsburgh; sister, Linda LaBarge (Walter Fraiser) of Ballston Spa; sister-in-law, Mary LaBarge of Plattsburgh;  a dear niece, Roxanne LaBarge; and grandchildren Jake Suddaby, Joseph Suddaby, Jackson Suddaby, Matthew Young, Owen Young, Olea Kjoelleberg and Synove Kjoelleberg; Surviving in-laws from the Bedard family include, James (Ginny) Bedard, Claire Clark, Anita Giroux, Real (Sandy) Bedard, Peter Bedard, Mary Lou Bedard and Aline Bedard and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
