PLATTSBURGH— A bright, boisterous light has left this earth.

Louis R. Maloney, 63, of Lozier Place, passed away on May 12, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with cancer.

He was born on March 27, 1957.

Louis was employed at Clinton Correctional Facility as a Correction Officer for 33 years.

He enjoyed all sports and coached in Plattsburgh, inspiring hundreds of local athletes.

Louis loved Lake Champlain, Auger Lake and sunny Florida. He also enjoyed playing golf with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Pammy (Carpenter) Maloney; sons, Robert Maloney and Mat Maloney and his wife, Emma; sister, Kay Barber and her husband, Rick and brothers, Pat Maloney and his wife, Peggy and Mike Maloney and his wife, Sue.

Calling hours will be held Thursday July 16th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday July 17th at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
