In Loving Memory of Lynne Artis Layman (1951 – 2026)

Lynne Artis Layman, a devoted mother and lifelong caregiver, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026. She was 75 years old. Lynne was preceded in death by her sister Kathryn Brodrick (Layman) and her parents Arthur Layman Sr. and Eunice Althea Layman (Graham).

Born on July 22, 1951, in Greenville, Maine, Lynne lived a life rooted in the beauty of simple living and dedication to others. She was a woman of diverse passions who actively encouraged healthy eating, sports, skiing, and the joy of reading.

Her profound capacity for love was most evident in her role as a caregiver. After co-parenting her children, Lynne dedicated her life to looking after her elders. She provided steady care for her grandmother, Lottie Graham (Jardine), and Lottie's son, Albert (Ab) Graham. Later in life, she brought that same devotion to caring for her mother Eunice.

Lynne is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Matthew McHaley, Saneun McHaley Foley, Christopher McKay and Ryelyn McKay (Foley) and four grandchildren: Asher and Elliot McKay of Plattsburgh, and Hazel and Sheamus McHaley of Portland, Oregon. She will be deeply missed by her brothers Graham and Art Layman Jr.
