PLATTSBURGH---Marian E. Mayhew 78, of Plattsburgh passed peacefully in to the arms of God Wednesday Feb. 29th with her children at her side. She was the beloved daughter of Frances E. (Stratton) and C. Ross Lavigne, also of Plattsburgh. Marian was a life long resident of Plattsburgh, residing on Prospect Ave, a home which she enjoyed most of the past 25yrs of her retirement. She worked for The New York Telephone company for 35yrs before retiring in 1986. She was a life long member of The First United Methodist Church, as well as a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was pre-deceased by her Husband of 35yrs, Thomas P. Mayhew and her Son Staff Sgt. Jeffery A. Mayhew. She is survived by her children: Dr. Thomas P. Mayhew, his Wife Jill (Jenkins) of Glen Allen VA; Victoria L. Dow of Plattsburgh, NY: Susan F. and her husband Colin O. Fountain of Glens Falls, NY. Thomass children, Kaitlin J and Hannah E. Mayhew. Jeffs children, Jessica N. and Michael A Mayhew. Victorias children, Brian C and Kathleen E. Riedy. Susans children Jonathan D, Laura L. and Thomas C Fountain. She has three great grandchildren. There will be no calling hours by her request. A graveside ceremony will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Clinton County.
