Mark James Bushey lived a life rooted in hard work, resilience, and an unwavering love for his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, outdoorsman, craftsman, and friend whose legacy will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Mark found his greatest peace in the outdoors. Whether he was fishing for pike, bass, or bullhead, sitting quietly in the woods during deer season, or spending time camping with his beloved wife, Vivian (Vicki), he appreciated the beauty and simplicity of nature. Some of his happiest memories were made around a campfire, on the water, and surrounded by the

people he loved. Gifted with extraordinary mechanical ability and craftsmanship, Mark could build almost anything. From restoring and building cars to constructing homes from the ground up, he approached every project with skill, patience, and pride. He was happiest when working with his hands, solving problems, and creating something built to last.

Mark was a lifelong admirer of classic American muscle cars, especially the Plymouth Road Runner, which was always his favorite. He loved the unmistakable sound of a powerful engine almost as much as he loved listening to classic rock, blues, and country music. Whether in the garage, on a drive, or relaxing at home, music was never far from his heart.

One of Mark’s greatest gifts was his ability to tell stories. He loved sharing memories from his younger years, bringing laughter, wisdom, and a glimpse into the adventures that shaped his life. Those stories became family treasures that will continue to be shared for generations.

Above all else, Mark’s greatest pride was his family. Nothing meant more to him than watching his children grow. The love he had for them was constant, steady, and unconditional, and it remains the legacy he leaves behind.

Mark was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vivian May (Reyell) Bushey, who passed away on August 29, 2013. Their love was built on years of shared adventures, including countless camping trips and time spent enjoying the outdoors together or enjoying a Giants football game. Their family finds comfort in knowing they are together once again.

He is lovingly survived by his best friend and son, Mark Adam Bushey, and fiancée, Heather G. Gordon; his beautiful granddaughters, Shelby Lynn Bushey and Haley Marie Bushey; his daughter, Monica Marie DuBrey (Bushey), and his beloved son-in-law, Tony G. DuBrey; his cherished grandson, Levi Maurice DuBrey and his brother, Steven J. Bushey.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vivian May (Reyell) Bushey; his parents, John L. Bushey and Julia (Annabelle) A. Bushey

Mark will be remembered for his strong work ethic, remarkable talents, love of the outdoors, unforgettable stories, and

quiet strength. He leaves behind not only the things he built with his hands, but also a family built on love, perseverance,

and lasting memories. His family will forever hear him in the rumble of a classic muscle car, the familiar chords of a favorite rock or country song, the peaceful stillness of a fishing trip, the warmth of a campfire, and the stories that will continue to be told in his honor.

Though he will be deeply missed, the love he gave and the values he lived by will remain with those who knew and loved him forever.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11:00am at the Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks NY, 14203 State Route 9N 12912.
