October 20, 1932 – June 27, 2024
PLATTSBURGH- Mark J. Rasco, 91, of Palmer Street, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Piercefield, NY on October 20, 1932 the son of Fredrick and Yvonne (Sidney) Rasco.
Mark served in the United States Navy from 1951-1955.
He married Geraldine Duprey on September 10, 1955 at St. Matthew's Church in Black Brook.
Mark worked for NYSEG in Plattsburgh until his retirement in 1990.
He was an active member of St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. Mark was a spiritual man who loved the Lord and practiced his faith daily. He also was a member of Our Lady of the Adirondacks.
Mark was truly dedicated and loved his wife and family, always caring for them and taking great pride in their accomplishments. He loved to be outside tending to his garden or working the fields of his property in Saranac. Mark always enjoyed reading, learning and telling stories about the past.
Survivors include is wife, Geraldine of Plattsburgh; sons, Matthew Rasco and his companion Colleen Joy of Grand Isle VT., Scott and Joanne Rasco of Ashville, NC, Arlen and Andrea Rasco of Londonderry, NH; daughters, Theresa Allen and her companion Bill Agoney of Peru, Mary Margaret Rasco of Claremont NH; brothers, Timothy and Linda Rasco of Keene Valley, Paul and Sandy Rasco of Cadyville; sisters, Eleanor Leggett of Rhinebeck, Judy Carter of Cadyville and Mae Rasco of Saranac; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mark was predeceased by his brothers Marshall Rasco, Blaise Rasco, and Thomas Rasco.
The family will be greeting relatives and friends prior to Mass on Friday, July 5th 2024 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30pm at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.
Burial will follow in the Church of Assumption Cemetery in Redford.
A reception will be held immediately after services at the American Legion in Redford.
Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Adirondack's or St. Peter's General Fund.
