PLATTSBURGH – Mary Bouvia, 68, of Sailly Avenue, passed way, Thursday, May 6, 2021.
She was born in Plattsburgh on October 22, 1952, daughter of Hubert and Joyce (Sterling) Wells.
Mary married Robert Bouvia on December 28, 1974. She worked for the Plattsburgh School District as a school aide for many years and cared for the children like her own. Mary worked at many other jobs including managing "Corn Dog on the Stick" and childcare. She was a mentor, and chauffeur to her children and their friends and all that called on her. In her later years she loved helping her brother Hubie with his business. Family always came first and it didn't matter who in the family needed her, she was always there. Mary loved kids of all ages and was very active in the lives of her own two children. She was known as the "Sports Mom" to numerous players on various teams, especially the football team.
Mary also enjoyed reading in her spare time and was an especially talented with a crochet hook.
Mary had a zest for life and a true love for all her family. She will trusty be missed by her Survivors: her loving husband of 46 years, Robert Bouvia; son, Scott and Michelle Bouvia; daughter, Danielle and Craig Scholl; mother, Joyce Wells; sisters, Terri and Robert Dumas and Robin and Richard Brunelle; sister-in-law, Carla Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her father, Hubert Wells and her brother, Hubert "Hubie" Wells.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Donations may be made to the Elmore SPCA in memory of her tremendous love of animals.
