Mary Ida Lamica Proper - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of, our mother on March 24, 2025. She died with her son Francis, holding her hand and her son, Wesley and grandson, Dustin by her side.

She was born on October 12, 1947, the daughter of Alexander and Edith Lamica.

Mary lived in Cadyville with her longtime companion and boyfriend of 35 years, Michael J. Greeno.

Mary loved bird watching, singing, dancing, coloring and word search. She also very much enjoyed watching WWF wrestling. One of her favorite songs was 1000 stars in the sky, that she would sing a lot with her sister, Rose.

Mary was predeceased by an infant daughter, Waneeta Marie Gates, parents, Alexander Napolean Edith Mae (Nason) Lamica, husband, Gerald Edward Proper and just recently by her granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Davis.

Survivors include her children, Wendy (Wayne) Burnett of Cato, NY; son, Francis (Kimberly) Greenwood of Constable, NY; Wesley Greenwood and his companion, Christine Page of Bombay, NY; Scott (Lori) Proper of Merietta, NY; siblings, William Lamica of Malone, Roy (Michelle) Lamica of West Stolkhome, NY, Rose Burnett of Zephryhills, FL and Bennie (Donna) Lamica of Barre, VT; 8 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mom's wishes are to be buried next to her mom.

There will be a graveside service at a later date.

Fly high mom you have your thousand stars in the sky. When we look at a starry night, we will forever think of you. Until we meet again.
