Obituary

Maryellen J. Favreau, 55, of Ellenburg Center, passed away on August 15, 2025, at the home of her sister, Joyce Favreau in Chazy, after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on April 19, 1970, in Rutland, VT, the daughter of Donald and Madelaine Favreau.

Maryellen graduated from Chazy Central Rural School in 1988, where she proudly served as team score keeper for many sports. She began her 35-year career as an insurance Customer Service Representative with Lita Chauvin at the Chauvin Agency in Rouses Point and following their buy out was employed by her beloved Blue Line Insurance Agency in Champlain, NY for many years. Maryellen enjoyed gardening, crocheting, listening to music and traveling with family all over the world.  She was a devoted supporter of Norwegian Cruise Line having cruised a total of over 365 days.

She is survived by her domestic partner of 21 years, Larry Normandin; sister, Joyce Favreau; brother, Carter (Melissa) Favreau; sister-in-law, Genevieve Favreau, two Nieces, two Nephews, a Great Nephew, two Great Nieces and her feral cats, Lord Grayson and Lady Eleanor.

She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Maurice Favreau, and her first feral cat, Freda.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00am in Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Chazy Central Education Fund or Focus on Ferals - P.O. Box 274, Brainardsville, NY 12915.
