MOOERS – Maxine LaForest, 78, formerly of LaForest Road, passed away, Friday, February 22, 2019 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Mooers, NY on December 17, 1941.

Max was a caring and loving man who became disabled at the young age of 17. During his younger years, he enjoyed making various leather products and was very talented in hand making purses, wallets, belts, etc.

Max love to listen to country music and was especially proud of harvesting various vegetables that he grew in his own private garden.

Survivors include his cousins, Candie Lashway and her husband Stanley of Mooers, Linda Bell of Mooers, Loretta Duprey of Champlain, and Gary LaForest of Plattsburgh.

Max was predeceased by his mother, Edith LaForest.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will take place in the spring in St. Louis of France Cemetery in Sciota, NY.
